c) Have you challeneged yourself to "get out of your comfort zone"? Explain.
- I think I definently have came out of my comfort zone since the begining of the year. I remember being so shy. And I was like, terrified to come up to the front of the class to present what I wrote or even getting called to read something out loud. And now I talk in front of the class almost once a week, probably more. The biggest time I left my comfort zone was when I first got the acceptance letter to come to High Tech High Chula Vista. I remember I ran up to my room because I really did NOT want to come here. &I remember getting ready for school on the first day thinking 'I don't wanna go...' I thought that it was going to be horrible not being with my 15 best friends every single day. But as the year has passed, I'm thankful that I come here. I met a whole bunch of new friends and they are my new comfort zone. [:

f) Why do we create drafts? Why do we create multiple drafts?
- To me, drafts are kind of like thoughts. &You have a lot of thoughts, so it just adds more and more and more, creating multiple drafts. We make drafts to refine our ideas ad our words to make it better. Because everything can always be better than before. There is always something more you can do or add. We create multiple drafts to show progress in what we have done from the first draft to the final draft.
2.
g) How do people learn? What are some ways that you have found that you learn?
- Everyone learns differently. One person can be a visual learner and need a picture. Some people need to just go and do the work and some people need to listen to what is being said. I know that I can't sit for a long period of time and listen to someone talking. It bores me. I found that I learn in groupwork, where I can interact and talk with other people. Sometimes I draw a picture, but it doesnt help all the time for me. I think I am the person that needs to do an activity to learn something instead of a worksheet. Because I can remember what happens in activities.
2.
d) What are your career interests? Have they changed this year?
- Ever since about, 6th grade I knew that I wanted to be in the medical field when i grew up. It changed from doctor, to pediatritian, to nurse, and now I either want to become a physical therapist or a pediatritian. There's a lot of options and this year I really changed my mind a couple times because I spent some time in advisory thinking about what I wanted to do and how I would go to doing it.
2.
e) If I was your 10th grade teacher, what you you tell him/her about the way you learn, the way you interact with others, your strengths, the way you self-advocate? Would this be a helpful thing to do? Why or why not?
- I am really shy at first. I don't like speaking in front of others and if you put me in a group, I will barely talk. After I get comfortable, I like saying what's on my mind and I'm pretty outspoken when I want to be. My strengths are mostly in group work [mostly 2 or 3 people] and I learn better and remember things when I do an activity rather than a worksheet. When I need help, I do ask questions, but not at first. I will ask my classmates and friends first before I ask a teacher. I think that this is helpful because then it gives the teacher a better understanding of who I am and how I learn, and it would help me in the class because, for example, if we did an activity, I would remember what I learned there rather than reading a story and answering questions.

Movie Review
Title Of Movie: The Fifth Element
Main Characters: Korben Dallas, Leeloo, Priest Vito Cornelius, &Ruby Rhod
Setting of the Film: Floston Paradise, New York City, Egypt
Brief Plot: In Egypt some aliens tell the preist that in 300 years evil will come and they will come back. So 300 years later, the 'fifth element' named Leeloo is brought human and she is there to make peace throughout the whole world. While escaping she falls into Korben Dallas' taxi and he takes her to the Priest Vito's house. He says that they need the stones of the other 4 elements to stop evil from taking over the world. Korben, Leeloo, and Priest Vito go to Floston Paradise where the stones are and they take them back to Egypt to save the world.
How is this world in the movie different from the wolrd in real life: In this movie, it is really futuristic with flying cars. It's more advanced than our world.
Why do you think this world was created?: I think this world was created to show what it would be like to have evil coming to Earth and with aliens and futuristic technology.
How does this movie question or challenge our ideas about what is ideal?: This movie shows what can happen if you have a paradise and how others can ruin it.
What ideas do you get from the film for your own ideal world movie? : This movie didn't really help with my ideal world because it doesn't really have anything to do with it.

Movie Review
Title of the Movie: I, Robot
Main characters: Dectective Spooner, Dr. Connor, Sonny, robots
Setting: the year 2035
Brief description of the plot: Robots were made to help people but the robots started to not follow the 3 rules and they wanted to take over the world.
How is the world in the movie different from the world in real life? This movie takes place in year 2035 and there are robots that can talk to you. It is preferred not to drive manually, but on an 'autodrive'.
Why do you think this world was created (in the perspective of the people in the film)? This world was created so that humans would do less work and the robots could help the people in doing things like cooking and cleaning.
How does this movie question or challenge our ideas about what is ideal? This movie shows you that if you have robots in your ideal world then they could start to have minds on their own and deliberately disobey you.
What ideas do you get from this film for your own ideal world movie? For my ideal world I don't really like the idea of robots because I don't personally like robots. But I do like the idea of not driving cars manually.

riot or starve?
Its been months now.. I'm incredibly restless and obviously hungry. Today there was a riot. Everyone wants food. The government is being so stupid. If they can't support us with the bare minimum, then they shouldn't even be in charge. I know so many people that can actually do something about this crisis.
I feel like I need to get into those riots though, to get what I deserve. I work too hard and too long to not be getting anything at all. Those riots though, they're so dangerous. There was already 3 deaths just today. And my best friend got caught in the tear gas. He couldnt see where he was going and ran into a metal pole. Then he had a concussion and I don't know where he is now.
I dont want to die, I don't. I have to take care of my family, my children. Man, you should see the looks on their faces when they ask me, "Is it dinner time?" I can't even look at that face anymore. It feels like everytime I do, I feel like they're so dissapointed in me. They used to look at me like I was a hero, and now I don't even know. They're getting skinnier. It's so unhealthy and I'm worried they're going to starve to death.
Now I'm starting to think that I will go and sacrifice myself in a riot so that my children can live another day. Even if it means that I won't be with them.

A day as a hunter-gatherer...
It's been almost a week now. I have seen nothing. No bears, wolves, not even squirrels. Right now it is dark. I have never hunted in the dark before, but I am desperate. Unfortunately, my hearing isn't all that great. It is almost winter. And all the bears will be hibernating. I don't know how long I can last on just berries. My legs are now weak, I can't even run anymore. I hate that my kids can't have what they want. I hate that I can't say that I just can't find any food so they won't see me as a failure. It could be possible that this life just isn't for me. At times I think that I should just give it up to be a farmer. Then I could have lots of food for myself and my family. And during the winter seasons we wouldn't have to suffer because we can just store our food. I hear something..... leaves rustling. This could be it! It could finally happen! A stray wolf? Or maybe a bear if I'm lucky...
