To figure out why the world has borders, we should have to know what borders are for.
After the 9/11 attack, the borders and the border patrol were strengthened to prevent any other attack like that so it wouldn't happen again. Borders can be used for safety and protection, but they can also be used for separation and isolation to other countries which might cause racism to other people from other races and places.
But why do we have to have borders? We were taught that all people were the same and that we should all be treated equally. So why do we really have to be seperated and why are they so strict to not let anyone else in? When we think of borders one of the first things we think of is protection, because again we don't want another terrorist attack to happen again.
But from a perspective from another country, I think in the Philippines, they don't have so much to worry about borders so much because it is an island, and to get there you can't just hop a fence. But you still need a visa and a passport just like if someone in Mexico was trying to come to the US.
To some, a border is just an invisible line where very different people can live. To others, it can be somthing that they believe shouldn't be messed with.

Benifits
So before, we had to post a blog about harms of US and Mexico and now it's about how US benefits Mexico and how Mexico benefits the US.
The reason why I think that the US and Mexico benefit each other is because of traveling and vacation. There are some places in Mexico where people like to go for their vacation time with families. I've even heard my parents talk about going to places like Cabo with the Disney Cruise. Even when you go to amusment parks like Disneyland or Sea World there are always tourists. And it makes other people want to visit too. And maybe move here or in Mexico or in any other country and increases population.
Another reason why I think that US benifits Mexixo is that because we're so close to each other we can help them and donate money and things in case natural disasters happen.

How Mexico and the US harm each other
Our humanities homework for today? Find out how Mexico and the US harm each other.
In a recent study, it showed that the contaminated air in Mexico City does more damage to children than cigarette smoke. It can also cause chronic lung diseases when they're adults. With the pollution in the air, and us living so close, it definitely affects us here in the United States. With wind travelling, that polluted air can also get us sick or have lung disease too.
The US can also affect Mexico too. Although I can't think of many right now, but some things that I've heard that affects Mexicans are crossing the border. They need green cards, visas, birth certificates, or passports. I think that this affects Mexico and Mexicans by making them fustrated and kind of forcing them to cross over illegally. Maybe if the US was lighter on them then it would be easier and faster to cross over.

A Change in Policy
http://www.usconstitution.net/consttop_lang.html
In humanities we're having a debate on a policy in Mexico that should be changed or have a new policy.
My partner, Bryanna and myself are for the topic of having English to be the official language of the US. For example, when Mexicans come to the US and they don't know English, instead of having their classes in Spanish, they should have it in English so they can learn the language better.
The website that I have linked has a lot of different perspectives without pressuring you to be for one topic. It also links you to other sites with other information.
