Sooo.... In class we watched some parts of Mulan. And while we were watching, Kay told us to find some Chinese values that we saw in the movie, and there were A LOT. For example family honor, poise, punctuality, responsibility, religion, ancestors, luck, pets, looking nice, obidient, tiny waist, serenity, balance, beauty, loyalty, country, trande, self dicipline, perfection, against self expression, guardians, tea, and dignity.
Ithink that the movie Mulan is both true and false. It showed that women were treated as trophies. But I kind of don't think that Chinese women would actually go out to war and fight. However, the culture showed in the movie was real and accurate except that they left out the binding of the feet of women.
Overall, I loved Mulan. And I love all Disney movies. (:
